Published: Friday, 13 November 2015
Publicly funded academia is still on the hunt for new rare earths deposits from both a scientific interest perspective and in the hope of finding potentially mineable deposits. Those looking for profitably exploitable deposits should look to limestone and marble rocks with strong alkaline igneous activity nearby, delegates attending the Symposium on Strategic and Critical Materials were advised.
Explorers should concentrate on specific limestone and
marble provinces as potential sources of high grade rare earth
deposits, delegates attending the British Columbia Geological
Survey (BCGS)'s Symposium on Strategic and Critical Materials
conference in Victoria, Canada, were told today.
