New Kenyan mining law to establish ‘transparent’ legal regime

Kenya is expected to unveil a new mining law in a few months’ time, making it the latest African country to undergo extensive legislative mining reform to provide an attractive environment for direct foreign investment. Legal experts have said the new law will attract foreign investors to the country and help local communities.

Kenya’s new mining bill will help to establish a more modern, predictable and transparent legal regime and provide greater confidence to both foreign investors and the local community, industry experts have told IM.
