Vesuvius expects 2015 earnings to be at low end of forecasts

The British refractories company said in its trading update for the first 10 months of the year that it continued to face falling demand from steel markets and that a slim recovery in foundry was outweighed by broader tough trading conditions.

UK-listed refractories producer Vesuvius Plc said in its 10-month trading update today that although foundry markets had maintained a slight recovery from last year, ongoing weakness in the global steel remained a challenge for metal casting refractories.
