TZMI 2015: Chinese TiO2 capacity to reach 3.2m tonnes in 2015

Rising capacity and slowing overseas demand is threatening to trap all but the largest Chinese TiO2 producers in a cycle of loss, one leading industry body has warned.

China’s production capacity for titanium dioxide (TiO2) is set to reach 3.2m tonnes this year, up from 3.06m tonnes in 2014, according to Sheng Bi, chairman of the TiO2 branch of the China National Chemical Industry Productivity Centre.
