Low equity prices “may” offer M&A opportunities for mining industry

The large mining houses have been working hard on cutting costs and boosting productivity, as their shares continue to fall, says consulting group McKinsey. Despite this, the group maintains that there is an alternative reading of the industry’s mid- to long-term prospects, with sparks of M&A interest on the horizon.

The dwindling share prices of mining companies could potentially offer valuable merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities for those in the industry who want to grow or reposition their portfolios, according to consulting group McKinsey & Co.
