Gulf Resources to invest up to $156m in Sichuan brines and natural gas

The company has found brine concentrations up to seven times higher in Sichuan province's Daying County than in Shandong province, and intends to invest up to $156m in the area's natural gas and bromine and salt production potential.

Shouguang, China-based Gulf Resources Inc. has penned a contract with the People’s Government of Daying County in Sichuan province covering the exploration and development of natural gas and brine resources for the production of bromine and salt.

Up to Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 1bn ($156m*) will be invested by the company...
