AkzoNobel opens $10m US R&D facility in Ohio

The Dutch paints and coatings manufacturer is focusing on strengthening its position in North America by opening a research centre in Ohio. This follows the company's previous announcement that it was to invest $3m in a Texas research facility.

Paints and coatings specialist AkzoNobel has opened a new $10m US research and development centre in Strongsville, Ohio to support the company’s performance coatings business.

The facility will include developments for coil, extrusion and packaging coatings and will feature full testing, scale-up and analytical capabilities, AkzoNobel said.
