Tesla meets with Chilean government regarding potential Codelco lithium deal

Talks regarding a lithium supply arrangement indicate the state owned copper miner may be looking to diversify its portfolio.

US electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer Tesla Inc. has been in talks with the Chilean government regarding a potential lithium supply deal, local newspaper Pulso has reported.

According to the paper, senior Tesla executives met with Chilean government officials to propose a cooperation arrangement with state-owned copper miner Codelco.
