Cytec unveils new alumina trihydrate flocculants

The mining chemicals specialist, which is currently finalising plans to merge with Solvay, has released a range of new speciality chemical products for the alumina industry.

US-based Cytec Industries Inc. has launched a new range of alumina trihydrate (ATH) flocculants, claiming its innovation optimises production and saves costs.

ATH is predominantly produced through the Bayer process where ground bauxite is digested in sodium hydroxide and heated in pressurised tanks.
