Saint-Gobain receives antitrust approvals for Sika takeover

Saint-Gobain has been given pre-closing clearance from all the relevant anti-trust authorities regarding its takeover of construction chemicals business, Sika. However, both companies are embroiled in a dispute over voting rights, on which a decision is expected from the Swiss courts and may take years to resolve if appeals are made.

Saint-Gobain SA has received all the necessary antitrust approvals required for a takeover of Swiss chemicals company, Sika AG.

The French company said in a statement that pre-closing clearance has been granted and that no remedy has been requested.
