Refractory grade graphite prices going nowhere

Traditional markets will not lead a recovery in graphite prices before the second half of next year and the emergence of battery demand could be too late to prevent a major market slump.

Prices for refractory grades of graphite are unlikely to improve until the second half of next year, or more likely until 2017, IM learned at the 5th Graphite and Graphene Conference in London this week.

Producers, traders and buyers described the pricing situation as "pretty miserable" across all grades of flake...
