Solvay and partners unveil ecoFluor project to reduce emissions in semiconductor industry

As world leaders in Paris wind down talks in an attempt to reach a new global climate agreement, Solvay has embarked on a new green project using alternative fluorine gas mixtures to try and combat greenhouse gas emissions in the semiconductor industry.

Belgian chemical giant Solvay SA has teamed up with technology specialists to launch new fluorine-based gas mixtures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the semiconductor industry.

Solvay will work with US-based semiconductor company Texas Instruments Inc. and German-based technology specialist Muegge and Fraunhofer EMFT on the project.
