Orbite pushes back commercial production date for HPA plant for second time

The Canadian company planned to bring its HPA facility online by the end of this year. However, commercial output at the Cap-Chat-based plant will take a little longer to start than anticipated, as the construction process has run into delays for the second time this year for the same reason — a dispute with a contractor.

Orbite Technologies Inc. has said that it will push back the commercial production date for its high purity alumina (HPA) plant in Quebec, Canada, from Q4 2015 to Q1 2016 because of a dispute, now resolved, with one of its contractors over equipment delivery.
