Zambia to diversify away from mining

Falling copper prices and a continuing power crunch are forcing the African country to look for economic opportunities in other sectors and place less of a focus on its mining activities.

Zambia is planning to diversify away from a mining-heavy economic base in order to grow its economy, according to the country’s president of the Chamber of Mines, who said that diversification could be beneficial.
