Molycorp Silmet plant to restart operations in January

The plant’s fire in June saw rare metal production halt, though rare earths separation continued. It is hypothesised that Silmet could be sold off as part of Molycorp’s bankruptcy restructuring.

Molycorp Inc.’s Estonian subsidiary, Molycorp Silmet, is to recommence production at its plant near the village of Sillamae in January 2016 following a June 2015 fire, according to reports.
