Rio Tinto refreshes deal with borate workers union

The new deal will see workers at the miner's Mojave Desert borates mine in the US receive a 2.5% annualised wage hike, in addition to a number of health and employee benefits over the five year extension term.

Rio Tinto Minerals, the non-metallic arm of global mining giant Rio Tinto Plc, has signed an agreement with the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) concerning workers at its borates mine in the Mojave Desert, in southwestern US.
