Construction and automotive support late Seaway surge

The Atlantic-Great Lakes waterway is a trading artery for North America and higher spending on building cars and real estate has increased demand for stone and gypsum shipped through the Seaway, while consumption of potash, salt and aluminium has also been strong this year.

A last minute rush in raw material shipments through the Great Lakes St Lawrence Seaway System has boosted the North American port business towards the end of the year, local news source, The Press, has reported.
