Capsule to save trapped Chinese gypsum miners as chairman commits suicide

Industrial accidents are relatively common in China and officials are reportedly attempting to increase the regulatory burden to prevent such occurrences. While the capsule attempt may save four miners, 13 others are reported to be trapped somewhere in the gypsum facility.

Rescuers at a gypsum mine owned by Yurong Commercial and Trade Co Ltd in China’s Pingyi County, Shandong Province are poised to save a total of four miners who have been trapped in the facility since 25 December, 2015.
