Chinese university advances diatomite separation research

China’s University of Mining and Technology is investigating how to further the chemical method of separating diatomite as the country bids to take advantage of large, but low quality, reserves of the mineral.

The China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT) is seeking to advance the chemical method of separating diatomite from micron fine clay, in an effort to take advantage of the country’s extensive diatomite resources.
