Guangfeng black talc industry threatened by local disputes

The black talc industry in Guangfeng, in China’s southern Jiangxi province, has a long history built upon the unusually high grade of its local deposits. Despite having government support to expand production, local talc producer Fangzheng is facing staunch opposition to its plans – conflicts that could paralyse the regional black talc industry.

Efforts to expand black talc production in the Chinese city of Shangrao, Jiangxi, continue to face opposition – strangling supply of the ceramic raw material from the region.
