SQM welcomes new Chilean lithium policy

The world’s largest producer of lithium from brines has said that any new activity in the country’s lithium industry is “good for Chile,” as Codelco sets out its stall for developing the salars of Maricunga and Pedernales.

Sociedad de Quimica y Minera SA (SQM), one of the world’s largest producers of lithium products, has welcomed Chile’s new " Policy for Lithium and the Governance of Salares", unveiled by President Michelle Bachelet on Monday.
