Spodumene prices rise as lithium compound values are scrutinised in China

Tianqi’s decision to raise concentrate prices supports view of higher demand in Asia, but sharp increases reported for lithium hydroxide and carbonate values may not be reflective of the wider market.
Prices for spodumene produced in Australia and sold into Asia
are on the increase, sources have indicated to
Tianqi Lithium Industries Inc., which operates the
mine in Western Australia, recently announced a 15-20% price
hike for its Greenbushes spodumene concentrate.
