Ganfeng to raise Rmb 1.5bn in refinancing drive

Funds will be used to expand ownership of the Mount Marion spodumene joint venture, fund a new lithium-ion battery production facility and bring online a further 9,000 tpa lithium carbonate capacity.

China’s Ganfeng Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Co. Ltd has announced plans to raise Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 1.468bn ($223m*) through a non-public share offering.

The company will use the funds raised to finance an expansion of its stake in Reed Industrial Minerals Pty Ltd (RIM), which owns the Mount Marion spodumene project...
