Russian government approves rare earths expansion programme

The country plans to revive its soviet rare earths mining industry, which led the world in rare earths production in the 1970s, through a combination of state and private funding.
The Russian government has approved
a proposed state programme targeting a significant increase in
the domestic production of rare earths by 2020.
