Imerys teams up with Omya for FiberLean and launches Calderys USA

The French company has made two significant announcements this week, the first being a JV with its Swiss peer, Omya, for the development of its FiberLean product for fillers, while the second was the launching of a US-based arm of its refractories business, Calderys.

French minerals group Imerys SA and Switzerland-based speciality materials company Omya AG are in negotiations to establish a 50:50 technology joint venture (JV) for R&D into micro fibrillated cellulose (MFC), under the name FiberLean Technologies.
