SQM to up potassium nitrate capacity by 500K/tpa

The Chilean producer of lithium, potash, iodine and nitrates said the move would increase its operating flexibility and allow it to maintain high inventory levels, so that it can react quickly to changes in market conditions.

Sociedad de Química y Minera SA (SQM) will increase its potassium nitrate production capacity by 500,000 tpa, bringing total production to 1.5m tpa.The increase will consist of:
