India’s beach sand miners urge PM to scrap new rules

The Beach Minerals Producers Association argues that the new Atomic Minerals Concession Rules would negatively affect India's beach sand mining industry and force private miners to close down.

Private beach sand miners have appealed to the prime minster of India, Narendra Modi, to hold back the execution of the new Atomic Minerals Concession Rules (AMCR) 2016, claiming that the regulations are likely to restrict private mining that does not meet the qualifying criteria outlined.
