Chinese-origin brown fused alumina prices held unchanged despite a looming supply tightness due to stricter anti-pollution checks shutting down production in recent months.

Chinese-origin brown fused alumina (BFA) prices were largely unchanged this week amid stricter environmental checks, which clamped down polluting plants and cutting production capacity in the country.

Spot prices for 95.5% Al,O3 min BFA (refractory sized) traded at $580-590/tonne on a FOB China basis in the past week, two producers and several traders...
