Cement and building materials push Eagle Materials Q2 earnings up

Increased prices in its building materials segment and higher volumes of gypsum wallboard and paperboard products helped to buoy earnings and revenue for Eagle Materials, as the company's proppants segment continues to suffer through the oil and gas decline.


Texas, US-based Eagle Materials Inc. reported record revenues for the quarter ended 30 June 2016 as the company's construction products and building materials businesses performed well during the quarter.Cement, concrete and aggregates revenues stood at $144.8m, up 13% year-on-year (y-o-y) as the average net price for goods sold increased 2%.In...
