Competition sees cheaper fluorspar offers

As summer kicks in, market participants told IM that intensifying competition has brought about severe price undercutting in the market as producers aim to get rid of the stockpiles.

Fluorspar prices held at five-year lows this past week however market participants flagged up strong competition between producers.

Ongoing low demand from end markets, particularly aluminium fluoride (AlF3) and hydrofluoric (HF) acid, combined with the slow summer season has led to some price undercutting...
