Mexichem Q2 revenues hit by plant blast charges

Mexican fluorochemical producer has reported a loss in Q2 amid weaker revenue and sales owing to currency fluctuations, weakening resin prices and the aftermath of the explosion at Pajaritos petrochemical plant in Veracruz.

Fluorochemical producer Mexichem S.A.B. de C.V. reported a 6% year-on-year (y-o-y) decline in net sales to $1.4bn in the second quarter of 2016, resulting from a $45m impact tied to the appreciation of the US dollar against other currencies, a decline in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin prices and weaker...
