India to build new minerals port

Plans for a new port located at the mouth of the Mahanadi river are expected to facilitate the import of foundry sands and refractories as well as the export of chromite, mineral sands and bauxite.

India is looking to build a new mineral port in eastern India.The facility will be situated at the mouth of the Mahanadi river and will serve the state of Odisha.

Steel-making mineral products such as foundry sands and refractories will be imported, as well as fertiliser.
