Lithium industry prepares to talk 2017 contracts

As lithium producers and consumers are readying themselves for 2017 annual contract negotiations, the Chinese lithium spot price has again dropped towards levels seen on quarterly deals.

Lithium players are beginning to look ahead in earnest to talks over 2017 annual contract deals, with some sellers already entering into preliminary negotiations with new buyers, IM heard this week.

While formal talks will generally not begin until Q4, operators will start to come together next month to discuss...
