Low AlF3 prices attract fluorspar buyers

With fluorspar downstream prices facing demand side pressure compounded by significant inventories, the raw material continues to lose the market against low-priced downstream products – a trend mainly prevalent in aluminium fluoride – as aggressive price undercutting spreads.

The fluorspar supply chain has seen a shift in the buying patterns of end users, who are looking to benefit from softening prices in downstream products as raw material prices plummet.

Market sources told IM that some aluminium fluoride (AlF3) suppliers have stopped revealing acid grade fluorspar (acidspar) prices...
