SQM Q2 revenue stable on strong lithium sales

With sales volumes up across the board, pricing factors led to lower revenues in iodine, potash and nitrates, countering a large increase in lithium revenue during the quarter when compared with the previous year.

Chile’s Sociedad Quimica y Minera SA (SQM) reported revenue and profit figures for Q2 2016 essentially flat against the same period last year.

An uptick in revenue from the company’s lithium segment was offset by price-related drop-offs in iodine potash and nitrates, though sales volumes of all materials increased....
