Higher lithium sales, prices drive up Tianqi revenue

Higher lithium prices and sales helped the company increase its year-on-year revenue and profit, a trend that Tianqi expects to persist as the upstream battery industry continues to develop at a fast pace.

Leading global lithium producer, China-based Tianqi Lithium, reported a 126% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in revenue to Chinese renminbi (Rmb) 1.71bn ($255.98m) for the first half of 2016.

Net profit for the company surged 1,723% y-o-y to Rmb 746m for H1, while gross profit also increased 25 percentage points...
