Chinese bauxite imports decline in value in 2016

Imports of bauxite into China have been steadily decreasing in value this year, while data shows a partial uptick in volumes brought into the country.

Chinese imports of bauxite continue to register a decline in value terms while demand has partially increased in volume terms in the first part of the year, China Customs data shows.

China’s total bauxite imports in January-July stood at over 29m tonnes up from 27.5m tonnes in the same period...
