Southern Ionics aims to fill ATH supply gap in US

Southern Ionics is seeking to fill the supply gap in the North American ATH market following the disappearance of large operations belonging to Sherwin Alumina and Alcoa.

US-headquartered inorganic chemicals manufacturer Southern Ionics Inc. (SII) is planning to supply alumina trihydrate (ATH) to North American customers, aiming to fill part of the gap created by the closure of Alcoa’s and Sherwin Alumina’s facilities.
