Battery Show '16: Lithium prices not a game changer for Li-ion

Speakers at the Battery Show held in the US pointed to lithium's relatively small proportion of the cost profile of Li-ion batteries, potential substitution in industrial markets and the possibility of recycling, among others, as reasons that lithium price increases should not concern battery makers.

Rising lithium prices are not a threat to the growth of the lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery market, according to various market analysts speaking at the 2016 Battery Show in Novi, Michigan.
