M-I SWACO barite mine gets go ahead

This is the company's second attempt to secure approval for the development of the UK's Duntalich barite mine to replace depleting supply from from its Foss mine and enable the UK to become self-sufficient in the mineral.

Oilfield services company M-I SWACO has been granted approval by Perth & Kincross Council for the development of its barite (barytes) mine in Duntalinch, UK

The mine, located in Scotland, is being developed to replace the company’s Foss mine, which has operated since 1985...
