Shrinking profits affect China's refractory makers

The survival of Chinese refractory producers and exporters is jeopardised by persistant weak market conditions, which brought about a decrease in revenues and profit margins in the first half of 2016 and is causing immediate financial issues for operators.

Refractory demand in China for the first half of 2016 has followed similar trends seen in 2015; characterised by decreases in output, revenues, profit, exports and average prices, and an increase in accounts receivables.
