Orocobre hit by FX costs as lithium ramp up ongoing

The company expects to be selling lithium carbonate at $10,000/tonne by year-end. Borates revenues fell following a shift away from higher value refined products.

Lithium and borates producer Orocobre Ltd reported a net loss of $21.958m for the full year ending June 2016.

The performance was largely accounted for by a $20.9m loss derived from foreign exchange, resulting from the devaluation of the Argentinian peso.
