SQM to more than double lithium hydroxide capacity

A 7,500 tpa increase for the battery compound is planned for the end of 2017, driven by growing demand from electric vehicles.

Sociedad Quimica y Minera SA (SQM), the Chilean producer of lithium, potash, iodine and nitrates, intends to increase its lithium hydroxide capacity by 7,500 tpa by the end of next year, it has announced.
