Indian mineral output up 0.8% in July

Despite the domestic mining industry experiencing regulatory changes and global commodities turmoil, India’s mineral production index in July has managed to increase by 0.8% y-o-y for the fourth consecutive month of fiscal year 2016-17.

The mineral production index for India's mining and quarrying sector was 118.7 in July 2016, marginally up 0.8% year-on-year (y-o-y), according to the country's Ministry of Mines.

The cumulative growth for the period April-July 2016-17 increased by 2% over the corresponding period of April-July 2015-2016, as the ministry accelerates efforts...
