Bauxite, alumina prices flat amid supply disruption

More stringent environmental regulations restricting production in China have failed to lift Chinese bauxite and brown fused alumina spot prices. Trading remained quiet amid the Golden Week holiday where businesses in China were shut between 1-9 October.
Chinese-origin refractory grade bauxite spot prices have
remained unchanged despite supply disruption due to stricter
environmental measures implemented against producers in
China.
Under the Chinese government’s renewed effort
to enforce anti-pollution measures in the country, industrial
activities are now legally required to be powered by natural
gas.
