Mining Finance: Public opinion 'moving against capital'

Public outcry on capital held in offshore jurisdictions and the political will to monitor the movement of capital between countries more closely is creating concerns on the part of investors in mining projects, who are being urged to ensure they are legally covered.

Investors with a view to funding mining projects now have to face an environment of widespread scepticism against private capital, delegates heard at the Global Mining Finance Autumn conference in London, UK on 13 October.
