China ramps up steel output in September

Chinese crude steel output recorded a notable increase in September and led Asia figures to grow slightly while all other main regions saw reduced production.

World steel production rose 2% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 132.9m tonnes in September on the back of improvement in China, according to the latest estimates by the World Steel Association (worldsteel).

The nine-month production output between January and September 2016 for the 66 countries reporting to worldsteel stood at 1.2bn tonnes...
