Rio Tinto dismissed from talc lawsuits

The sale of the talc mine in 2011 removes Rio from culpability in the case against talcum powder producer J&J, as new owner Imerys is hit with a $2.5m fine.

Anglo Australian miner Rio Tinto Plc has been dismissed as a secondary defendant in five court cases in the Louisiana District Court in the US relating to ovarian cancer and talcum powder use.
