Yichang graphite mine’s sink holes under repair

Twenty-two months have passed since sink holes appeared in the graphite mine waste pond in Yichang, in China’s Hubei province. Now workers have entered the site and expect to finish sealing the pond by the end of 2016.

China Sciences Hengda Graphite Company has started repairing and sealing works at its graphite mine in Yichang, where broken pipelines led to the formation of sink holes in the site’s tailings pond in January 2015.
