Saint-Gobain expands mortar business in Asia

The buyout of mortars and plasters supplier E-Mix would enhance Saint-Gobain’s existing presence in emerging markets in South-east Asia, only months after the group bought three other mortar makers in Albania, Slovenia and Brazil.

French building materials provider Saint-Gobain SA is planning to acquire Hong Kong-based mortars and dry mixes producer E-Mix with a view to strengthen its presence in South-east Asia’s mortars market.
